World Missions
The purpose of missions at AHEFC is to fulfill the Great Commission by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism, discipling, church planting, and church development. We also recognize the importance of meeting human needs while carrying on any of these ministries, in accordance with Christ’s great commandment. With this purpose in mind, AHEFC is committed to acting as a strong base of prayer, financial support, and encouragement to our missionaries.
AHEFC is committed to sending members of our congregation throughout the world to share the love and good news of Jesus Christ. As a church we believe in providing our missionaries with a strong base of prayer and financial support by promoting the following:
-
Encouragement of interaction from the congregation and Care Teams through correspondence, cassette tapes, and meeting needs of missionaries on home assignment and visits.
-
Presentation of news and needs (including prayer requests) in: Sunday School and other children’s programs, Junior and Senior High programs, Adult Bible Fellowships, Arlington Life, Information Desk, Prayerline, and mission information display.
-
The AHEFC missionary family prayer calendar book.
-
The AHEFC prayer chain or e-mail for urgent requests.
AHEFC is committed to sending short-term missionaries to help in building projects, evangelism, and to give those from our own congregation the opportunity to consider missions as a life-long vocation or as a career.
AHEFC currently partners with 49 missionary teams in fulfilling the Great Commission around the world. Over one-half are overseas in Hungary, the Middle East, India, Venezuela, Indonesia, Mexico, Germany, Haiti, Honduras, and Austria. These individuals are serving with approved agencies like The Evangelical Free Church Mission, New Tribes, TEAM, Campus Crusade, MAF, YFC, Greater Europe Mission, and OCI. Primary consideration is given to funding missionaries going to unreached people groups.
