"Double our Impact for the Gospel"
Multi-Site Update
Now to Him who is able to do IMMEASURABLY more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus THROUGHOUT ALL GENERATIONS, forever and ever! Amen. ~Ephesians 3:20-21~
Hersey Campus Update
Look at what's going on at the very vibrant campus that worships at
Hersey
High School
1. Overall Campus
The foundation was laid this past summer as God provided a temporary location for our first site, Hersey
High School
. This officially marked The Orchard Evangelical Free Church as a multi-site church. We launched internally on September 7, 2008 and opened to the public on October 19, 2008. We have, on average, around 215 attendees on a Sunday morning, with many at our campus volunteering in ministry aspects that help Sunday mornings run smoothly.
EVEN THE KIDS SMILE AND SAY HELLO...
As Pastor Kevin Meek has been talking with new guests, he has encountered very positive feedback. One guest commented on how much they love the warmth, the people, the energy, the atmosphere, the ministry and the sense of God’s Spirit at the Hersey Campus. Another stated their appreciation for how welcoming we are as a campus. This is due ESPECIALLY to our volunteers within the greeter team, at the welcome center, ushers, and those on the hospitality team. This is also due to the entire campus who work collectively towards such an environment. People can sense the joy and enthusiasm found at Hersey.
We encourage you to stop by and take part in the multi-site ministry of The Orchard Evangelical Free Church!
2. Sunday Morning Ministries
We have full programming on Sunday mornings, with services at 8:45 and 10:30, providing birth through 5 yrs. at 8:45 and birth through college age ministries at 10:30. We also have Life Connections, which are small group discussions, at the second service, with 2-3 tables available to informally talk about that day's message over coffee. Life Connections is the front door to fellowship and further connection at The Orchard.
Our Sunday morning worship team, led by Matt Stanghelle, leads us in joyful, exuberant praise and worship to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Prayer Requests -That momentum would continue to build as our church votes in May on a permanent site, located at Dundee and Barrington Rd., for those currently worshipping at Hersey High School.
-That our congregation would catch the vision as we do “More for the Gospel” in the GREATER CHICAGOLAND area.
-That we as a church would not give satan a foothold as we move forward in multi-site ministry, but that we would present our requests to God, Who will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus.
-That the congregation as a whole at The Orchard Evangelical Free Church would commit to multi-site ministry and that 500+ people would be willing to worship and serve at the new campus location.
-That the church leaders would be able to effectively communicate new information about multi-site to the congregation in the months leading up to the congregational meeting.
-That the board and staff would have wisdom and discernment in executing the multi-site plan for our church.
